Williams was barely put under threat by the unseeded Romanian in a 6-3, 6-0 win on centre court.

The 30-year-old American will meet the winner of the second semi-final between seventh seed Viktoria Azarenka of Belarus and Italian Sara Errani, seeded seventh, in Sunday's final.
