It’s designed in every aspect for you to climb Mount Everest immediately after you’ve found the lost city of Atlantis. But how good is it as a runner’s watch?
What is it?
At first glance, you might imagine that it's just a wrist watch. It tells the time and fits perfectly on a wrist. But look a little closer, and you'd see that it also tells you how high you are above sea level. It shows you which way is north, or south, or east and west. It tells you other things too, like the air temperature, how fast your heart's beating, how fast you're running or moving, your exact coordinates in the world, how long you'd take to complete a kilometre-long walk, run or hike.
They call it the Suunto Ambit. The 'first true GPS watch for explorers' is how they've described it. In the press release, Suunto call the Ambit "...a watch that combines a GPS navigation system, altimeter, 3D compass with advanced heart rate monitoring into a robust instrument for mountain and everyday use".
More appropriately, I'd call it a complement to your inner Batman.
