Malaysian national striker Safee Sali splits from wife Sabarina Yusof in Syariah High Court.

Malaysia's first ever millionaire footballer, Safee Sali, has divorced his wife of more than four years, Sabarina Yusof yesterdat at the Shah Alam Syariah High Court.

The former couple were married in 2007, and have since had two daughters, Nur Syaza Syaqina and Nursyasya Sorfina, both three and one years old respectively.

Proceedings took place behind closed doors, as the couple ended their marriage mutually before Syarie judge Fouzi Mokthar.

It has been agreed that custody of the children will go to Sabarina, who now plans to return to Sarawak to be with her children.

Safee currently plies his trade in the top Indonesian football league with Pelita Jaya FC and continues to work towards taking Malaysia to greater heights in world football.
