While many kids grow up dreaming of becoming a footballer, many go on to have successful careers in other industries.

The greatest footballers in the world often came from obscurity, and found success because they were lucky enough to be discovered or never gave up on their self belief. Here are a few examples of famous (and not so famous) stories of footballers that came from nowhere to capture the hearts of sports fans around the world.

Let's start with Pablo Infante, the Spanish footballer who is suddenly in the spotlight for being the top scorer in the Spanish Cup eclipsing great players like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
