Finishing second spot in the preliminary rounds of the 10m platform event, Pandelela Rinong is all set to revive Malaysia’s hope of a first-ever gold medal at the Olympics.
After a mesmerizing performance at the individual platform diving event at the Aquatics Center, Sarawak-born Pandelela Rinong has single-handedly gotten Malaysians buzzing again at the chance of yet another medal at the London 2012 Olympics.

The 19-year-old secured second spot in the prelims with a score of 349.35 points, behind leader, Chen Ruolin of China who scored 392.35 points. In third place behind Pandelela was German Christin Steuer who managed a 341.75 points.
The gap between first and second spot for Pandelela could have been much less, if not for a slight mistake in her third dive, which caused her to drop points.
Malaysia has only been able to secure one medal so far, through Datuk Lee Chong Wei's efforts in the Men'sSingles badminton event.
Pandelela will be competing at 5pm (Malaysia time) today (9th Aug) in the semi-final of the Women's 10m Platform event.
MSN Sports Malaysia would like to wish her nothing but the best of luck. GO PANDELELA!
