Having only dropped one set so far, Malaysian hero Datuk Lee Chong Wei took yet another step towards possible Olympic gold in the Men's Singles badminton tournament after beating India's Parupalli Kashyap 21-19, 21-11.
A very determined Chong Wei stepped into the Wembley Arena after beating Indonesia's Simon Santoso a day before without too much trouble.
However, Indian shuttler Kashyap seemed to be on a high of his own, taking the fight early on to Chong Wei in the first set, coming very close to throwing Chong Wei off his game.
But Chong Wei seemed to only be warming up in the first, and in the second, left Kashyap miles away.
Chong Wei now advances into the semi-finals of the tournament, where he will play China's Chen Long. Moments after Chong Wei's victory, Chen Long claimed his win over Dane Peter Gade, 21-16, 21-13.
The Chinese shuttler will be Chong Wei's toughest fixture yet at the London 2012 Olympics, and will be a true test of the Malaysia's quality.
Should he survive the match and advance to the finals, it will guarantee Malaysia's first medal at the London 2012 Olympics - be it silver or gold.
