The emblem plays a massive part in the branding of the event and is showcased in advertising for months before the beginning of the Games, as well as in various forms of merchandise and souvenirs.

2016 Rio Olympic Games logo:

Designed by the Rio agency Tatil, the logo for the Olympic Games in 2016 represents the Sugarloaf Mountain, one of the landmarks of Rio de Janeiro. The logo was based on four concepts: contagious energy, harmonious diversity, exuberant nature and Olympic spirit. The colors are found in the Brazilian flag.
