After three Premier League crowns, four FA Cup trophies, two League Cup wins and finally winning the eleusive Champions League title last Saturday, the talismanic Didier Drogba has officially announced he would be leaving Stamford Bridge.
Rejecting the club's overtures of a one-year extension to his contract which expires in June, the Ivory Coast striker told the club's website: "I wanted to put an end to the speculation and confirm that I am leaving Chelsea. "It has been a very difficult decision for me to make and I am very proud of what we have achieved, but the time is right for a new challenge for me."
The 34-year-old leaves the London club on a high after scoring a late equaliser against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final on Saturday and then converting the decisive penalty in a dramatic shoot-out after extra-time. In his eight seasons with Chelsea, Drogba has made a total of 341 appearances in all competitions, scoring 157 goals.
The departing Didler Drogba may be the best foreign striker ever to don the Blues' jersey, but there has been no shortage of greatness at the London club over the years. Here's a look at the other Chelsea legends from past and present.
