On the verge of their Champions’ League qualification, Arsenal continued their winning ways against Dutch opposition AZ Alkmaar with a 4-1 thrashing of Ronald Koeman’s men. Cesc Fabregas scored a brace while returning Samir Nasri and Abou Diaby got a goal apiece.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had much praise for his man-of-the-match Andrey Arshavin, who played a spotless match for his team. “Arshavin was outstanding. He gave the ball every time at the fraction of the second you wanted to give it. That is top, top quality”, said Wenger.

Wenger’s team now top Group H with 10 points, and only need one more point to confirm their place in the final stages of the tournament. Arsenal faces Standard Liege in their next match on the 24th of November.
