United's late rescue

Manchester United managed to salvage a point in last night’s Group B Champions’’ League match against CSKA Moscow after falling behind 3-1 against the Russian side.

The Russians struck first through a 25th minute goal by Alan Dzagoyev which certainly rocked United’s boats early in the game, but the English Champions’ were able to retaliate with a goal themselves as Michael Owen got one in.

CSKA Moscow weren’t letting up either, getting a goal back minutes after Owen’s equalizer, putting the Russians ahead once again. Vasily Berezutsky extended that lead with another goal in the second half for the Russians and everything started to look a little pear-shaped for the English champs.

However, in classic Manchester United fashion, Paul Scholes found the net late in the match on the 84th minute which drew United ever so close to the equalizer. An own-goal from the Russian’s defence gave United that equalizer and a much needed point for their Group B qualification.
