After hosting the early rounds of the men's and women's handball competitions, it will be transformed into a venue for the fencing discipline of the Modern Pentathlon. Built with retractable seating to create a flexible space, the 7,000-capacity arena will remain in place after the Games and be adapted for community use as a sports centre.
