Chipping Strategy – GL Tan’s secrets to the game

Around the green, always leave yourself a putt for your next shot
Strategy is just as important for the short game as it is for the long game, and one of the golden rules when it comes to chipping is to always try and land the ball on the green. That way, you don't have to worry about the ball snagging in the grass, or the fringe taking away pace off the ball. The most consistent surface is the green, so always try to take advantage of that. Once the ball lands on the putting surface, it will roll to the hole just like a putt, which will obviously make it much easier for you to predict how the ball is likely to behave.
